100% Proof were a slow AC/DC type Christian Rock band who were tagged into the nwobhm. I loved this album to death in 1982 and "back seat driver" remains a favorite. The follow up album "The Power and the Glory" was not my cup of tea ! and the vinyl was the most flexible i've ever encounterd !! When you face unknown NWOBHM bands, you can crash either against a proto-thrash metal with satanic tendencies, or against a 70s' boogie rock combo, and this latter is the case of the Mancunian 100% proof, a bit strange the name, though their music was a very average pub rock a la early AC/DC mixed with Humble Pie, Bad Company and every thing in between.

In 1981 they issued "100% proof", bluesy heavy rock tranced in blockhead riffola sans surprise, though actually pretty fresh and listenable, though not too much (also they have a song called "Rock & roll", yes), and I assume 100% proof were included into the NWOBHM for technocratic-geographic reasons only. Steven and Phillip Wright on vocals/guitar & drums respectively, Steven Harrison on bass and Charles Wilson on guitar are the 100% of the proof: you don't need talent to enter the NWOBHM history.
